Have you ever. . . [23 Sep 2009|01:01pm]

Last week, my mom, boyfriend and I went to see a psychic. I was house sitting for my father and I had noticed that there was a new psychic down the street, so we all decided to try it out. She said she did everything from palm reading to Tarot Reading to Chakra and Spirit readings. I had a palm reading before at the corn festival, and the reader was very accurate with my read so I thought I would try it again to see where my lines had shifted and changed.

The first thing that really made we not feel right about the psychic we saw last week is that she was pushing Christianity and church in her reading. I grew up Christian, I even went to a Catholic junior high school, and I was told growing up that everything I was doing such as Tarot, and palm reading was against the Christian church. However I have had issues with the Christian church, and I have been seeking my own spirituality now including mu curiousity with Tarot,, palm reading, mediations, and pyschic ablibilty.

The second thing is she had told each one of us that we had spirits following us. Here's the thing with as many people that have died in this world I could easily see how you can run into a restless spirit or two. However she was claiming that it was the reason for a bad luck. She told me that this spirit that was following me was the real reason why I am distracted from writing my story and why I am so unhappy most of the time. The thing is ever since puberty I would have moments of unhappiness, I just believe it is hormones, not necessarily a spirit.

The third thing that really rubs me the wrong way about this psychic is she was pushing all of us getting cleansings. I understand that cleansing are very important, but I just paid 20 dollars for a reading that maybe she could tell me something about me that I didn't know or what possiblities there in my future with my writings. I wasn't looking at her like a doctor at a check up and I have to go back every three months for a 100 dollar cleansing. She was trying to get at least 100 dollars out of each of us. I understand some people make a living using their psychic gifts, but I really felt she was just too pushy with it.

I was just wondering has anyone else has a bad experience with a psychic?

Introduction & a question :) [03 Aug 2008|09:52am]

Hello everyone,

My name is Marina (but everyone calls me Rina anyways :D), I*m living in Germany, and I am new to this community as well as to palmistry itself. Since I want to find out more about this topic (It really is very interesting and surprisingly accurate so far ^^), I joined this community. If you need more information, please ask, since I don*t know what to write about concerning myself .___. ...

Anyways! I would like to ask you whether you know any good books on palmistry that include as much information as possible ... Sorry if this is quite vague; I just hate buying 543 books on one topic and having several ones telling you different interpretations on certain things that you may come across :\. So ... Are there any books you could recommend? (There is no need for the books to be in German; I can also read English :D ...)

Much love,
~Rina

Hello....I'm new, so I figured I'd say hi :)  I come from a long line of psychic women (my mother is a medium, my grandma's always "known things," and there's many stories about the uncanny things the women before them were able to do), so when I was growing up I was exposed to all sorts of different types of divination.  I was really big into palmistry when I was a teenager, until a reading of one of my friends proved to be a little too accurate and scared me off all forms of divination (it was the first time I'd ever seen someone's death...I tried to warn him without actually telling him that it was his death I was seeing, but two years later I was unfortunately proven right).  My mom has started a psychic development group, so this has inspired me to re-learn the palmistry that I used to love.

So yeah, that's me.  I'll probably be around now and then, when work permits :)

Hello, I'm new here, and relatively new to palmistry as well. My mother's showed me things here and there, but nothing in depth. Otherness about me, I'm a second-generation Wiccan, and currently seeking to dedicate myself as a candidate for initiation into British Traditional Witchcraft, which is part of why I'm here; Part of my training is to learn a method of divination, preferrably one I'm not all that familiar with. My favorite form is Tarot, but I've been passingly curious about palmistry for some time, and so decided to investigate it further.

Nice to be here, I'll be about...

ooo Just found this community and am quite excited (though i confess I Would like it if people posted pictures of their palms to have interactive palm reading sessions, as I think we could learn alot from it).

I had my palm read as a child by my grandfather who taught me the basics. Since then I've watched the lines on my hands change according to my life. Read a load of books, taken in some of it (mostly bits relevent to my own hands I confess), discarded other bits.

I used to palm read people, and I have used that to learn more about how to palm read, correlating what I read with their response. It's been surprisingly apt.

I've not read palms for a few years, but did last weekend at a party.... where I was very surprised to find not one but TWO people with split head lines. I'd never seen that before at all. I discussed what this might mean to them, then fished for their response. In both cases the split is very apt (one was bipolar for example and had the split in both hands, but the lines did rejoin) ....

The other had a radically different writing vs non writing hand, and has been going through some Really really big changes in her life. The split for her was huge and only in her writing hand, not at all visible in her non writing hand.

What interests me about that is that such big differences imply rapid change and unhappiness as things are not balanced/settled... Which is certainly the case for this person... but it is interesting for the difference to be quite so pronounced and immense. The upheavals in her life started 2 years ago, and the right split head line was VERY very deep and strong, and yet the left hand was still straightforward and single. Could such strong lines have been made so recently? I have not seen her hands before, and I'd love to do (or have done!!) a study over time. See if the left hand catches up or the right hand resolves....

Anyway. it's interesting.
let me know if you have any thoughts.

I look forward to hearing from this community, and perhaps exchanging notes and discoveries.

Anyone else noticed that computer geeks (or people who type alot) have a strong horizontal line cutting across generally between head and heart line.
I guess new movements with our hands make new imprints.... Maybe there are mobile phone lines too!! ;)
I'm not sure whether to read anything more into it than "types alot" or if its a personality trait (i've seen it most strongly shared by computer scientists who both type alot and share a set of "geek" character traits)

On my active hand, I have a fate line that splits twice, once tiny and small.

The other is mid-palm and significant.

The lines overlap, about a half a centimeter apart for a length of a centimeter.

This split line starts from two lines that branch together at my wrist.

Mercury cuts through just above where the branches meet.

Though on my passive hand, my fate line is long and straight with a backstock of upward branches that connect it to my life line (doubled). No split. No branching start.

I'm having a hard time deciding what that blatant differnce means exactly.

Intro... [23 Sep 2005|02:02pm]

My name is Chaelyn. I'm 26.

A few years back, I went to a palmist in Mystic, CT...and sat in awe as she told me all about me.

So since then, I've been stocking up on books, seeing what different information there is out there.

I like to see how some of it coincides and some of it contradicts. I'm a self-proclaimed truth seeker in every respect.

I am amazed when I sprout new lines and know exactly who or what they are, why they are there...or aren't there.

But, I also have lines and markings that I'm still trying to figure out.

I just love that everything you are...and everything you could be is right in front of you, if you chose to acknowledge it.

I'm glad I found this community. I think it will be mucho interesting.

Welcome to those that stumble upon this community due to an interest in palmistry. I was searching through Livejournal, trying to find a community that dealt mainly palmistry but I was always coming up empty handed. I think Palmistry deserves a special spot so I created this community. I hope this community grows into a great place of discussion.

Peace Out,
~Jas:)

P.S.
I'm going to follow the rules and post my new member intro.Collapse )
